Reflections

Overall, the goal was to present the art of surfing in a different perspective through a black & white medium, where the shapes and textures of the waves were accentuated. The 3rd photograph actually started my interest in this direction. As I enjoyed the contrast of the blacks from the wave in foreground creating a mountain like shape along with the textures of the bubbling water. It reminded me of Katsushika  Hokusai's piece "The Great Wave off Kanagawa."

The tight framing in the 1st photo creates a strong illusion of drowning but areas of blacks are blown out - it may or may not have improved the shot. The 2nd shot I had the most difficult time in terms of composition but in the end opted to take central focal point.

Munich

At Munich we couchsurfed at a locals place. The whole place was very green, where all the food in the kitchen was dumpster dived.

Paris

Elegant city of Paris.

When we first came to Paris and after we checked into our hostel we decided to walk around the city - it was about 10-11pm. Just a short 5-10 min walk we found ourselves at the highest point in the city, Sacre-Coeur.


 

Isle of Skye + Scottish highlands.

Following shots were taken in the Scottish highlands and Isle of Skye. 

The photo below, we were supposed to go on a barge ride, however we missed it. Found some horses instead.

On one of the nights that we were driving around Scotland, looking for a place to sleep - we were sleeping in the car - we found a nice little car park through a back road. In the morning we were awoken to rain forest atmosphere, walking about 10 metres came across this beauty.
